My son moved nurseries in March 2012 when we relocated to the area from the other side of London. He had previously been in another Casterbridge Nursery over there. I wanted to transfer him internally and this was made possible with the help of Valerie and the team at Richmond.
Xavier settled in very quickly to his new environment and this was made possible due to the care and attention of the staff in his room, with particular reference to Tara.

Tara is now his key worker. She works with you and regularly discusses Xavier's needs with me to help keep a consistent approach between the nursery and home. She is always open and discusses how his day has been and has taken the time to understand him as a person in his own right.
I would thoroughly recommend the team at Richmond. They are always friendly and helpful. It makes it easy to leave Xavier there and go to work each day, and he is happy to go there.

“Thank you to all of you for looking after Ayesha so well over the last 3 and half years. Time has flown by and we really appreciate the contribution you have all made to Ayesha’s intellectual and social development, so that she is the lively, confident and bright girl she is today....ready for school.”

It need hardly be added that I couldn’t be happier with the level of service which Finlay has enjoyed during his preschool years; I’ve gently criticised Finlay many times for his reluctance to leave Grena Road at the end of each day but recognise that it’s something I’m equally guilty of and that one of the highlights of my day has been my ‘catch up’ conversations with the lovely people who look after Finlay and are never too busy to discuss his behaviour and development.

'As a new nursery and preschool both the management and room staff are actively searching for innovative ideas to inspire the children, parents and carers. My son is well prepared to start school (reception), already having a good grasp on his foundation education (letters, numbers etc.) When I drop off my son in the morning he has a big smile on his face and is excited for the day ahead. Offering Spanish, ballet and yoga gives my son a unique nursery experience and a strong, varied foundation and interest in different types of activities.'
'My son Tom has made real progress in verbal communication and physical development since he started at Grena Road. He is now walking and has started to talk - his first consistent word was "ta", which comes from his carers. This has been a big breakthrough, and he is now starting to practice saying more words. I also understand that since he made these developments, he has become very sociable and enjoys playing with the other children in the nursery. Prior to this, he was extremely shy and would only interact with a couple of children. It is quite clear how much Tom enjoys spending time with the Angel Fish team - he has big smiles and cuddles for them all.'

I would like to express how happy I am with how well settled both my 4 year old and one year old girls are at Grena Road. From the very first day when I popped in to explore whether Grena might be able to ease our stress I have been met with helpful and friendly faces. Our family was under pressure with relocating back from Australia after 2 years to not only both parents working but our eldest daughter starting school.
Moving our lives back was tough and our eldest daughter was showing behavioural changes with not eating and uncharacteristic shyness. Our original childcare plan was not going well and we were fortunate to be accomodated by Grena Road immediately.
I was filled with confidence on meeting the staff and seeing how both my girls were cared for and comforted. The baby room girls spent time getting to know me and my baby from day 1. The preschool room staff showed me how they were going to help my daughter with her school work and develop her learning as well as have fun after a day of school ( I love the fact that the kids are playing with an interactive whiteboard one minute then I see the staff playing games with them all singing in a circle and no child is left out). I must mention that the children also gave my daughter a really warm welcome and they are clearly all really happy and settled there too. This was a great indication to me that my wee girl would fit in.
The wrap around care with school pick up and drop off was an essential cog in the wheel for us and its working perfectly.
My eldest daughter has come out of her shell after only a few weeks of the change to Grena Road and I attribute it to the excellent care and attention she receives at both her school and Grena Road. Whenever I walk in to Grena Road I notice any member of staff knows both of my children and they both respond so positively its like meeting family members. I know for a fact its not just my kids that all the staff know by name...I've talked about this with other mums and we all agree that for a big nursery it couldn't be more welcoming.
I have total confidence in recommending Grena Road to any family. I was recommended to Grena Road by a good friend and I started with positive preconcieved ideas. I have not been disappointed.
