Meet the Team

Tara Gatford
Nursery Manager
Tara Gatford started working in childcare in 2000 and has worked in many positions within the nursery environment. Tara started off in a nursery in Ash School and worked her way up through the nursery to Preschool Room Manager.
In 2003 she joined Nursery on the Green in Frimley as a Room Manager and worked in all rooms within the nursery before being promoted to Deputy Nursery Manager. She was also the manager at Footsteps Day Nursery in Farnbourgh before joining the team at Grena Road while Valerie is on maternity leave.
Tara has a son who attended one of the groups nurseries from the age of three months untill he started "big school" in September 2012. She also has a little girl who attends Footsteps and is currently in the Baby Room.

Valerie Peters
Manager (on maternity leave)
Valerie has a Degree in Early Years Education, an International Montessori Diploma and is currently studying her BA Hons as well as working towards achieving her EYP-Early Years Professional Status. Valerie has worked in Early Years for the last 12 years having a great passion and enthusiasm for her role. Her other qualifications include: Paediatric First Aid, Health and Safety, Risk Assessment, Safer Recruitment and Safeguarding Children.
In her spare time, Valerie enjoys yoga, travelling and reading.

Darpreet Virdi
Preschool Teacher
Darpreet is the Preschool Teacher in Preschool 2. She prepares the children for school ensuring that they have the basic understanding and skills required to support them in their learning, both academically and emotionally as they move from nursery to school as it is such a big step for the children.
Darpreet organises activities for the children to encourage excitement, enjoyment, curiosity and challenging experiences spanning across the learning areas; personal, social and emotional development, communication, language and literacy, problem solving, reasoning and numeracy, knowledge and understanding of the world, physical development and creative development. In preparing for school, we also focus on becoming independent, learning letters and sounds as well as counting and recognition of numbers and shapes.
